2014 Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaking Notes

At elevations ranging from 1,400 to 3,000 feet and located at the base of Mount Konocti, once an active volcano, the Red Hills AVA features rolling hills, red volcanic soils, and a lake effect breeze from Clear Lake, one of North America’s oldest natural lakes. Three parallel Sauvignon Blanc vineyard blocks provide the fruit for this wine. Each vineyard is harvested at different degrees of ripeness. Our winemaking team then blends them together to create a wine that has aromas of fresh melon, grapefruit and crisp green apple. The well balanced acidity brings out the flavors of citrus and lemongrass with hints of peach and white melon.
