2013 Chardonnay

Winemaking Notes

At elevations ranging from 1,400 to 3,000 feet and located at the base of Mount Konocti, once an active volcano, the Red Hills AVA features rolling hills, red volcanic soils, and a lake effect breeze from Clear Lake, one of North America’s oldest natural lakes. The fruit for this wine was 70% barrel fermented to create a creamy richness. A portion of the fruit was put through malo-lactic fermentation to add buttery layers and complexity to the wine. This golden straw colored wine has aromas of green apple and refreshing tropical flavors.
